Professor Gos-a-knee's Thoughts on the 29th Unexpected Party: Part Deux

The Photo Op followed and the group picture was taken by newcomer of the year: Jimmy the Lens. And Tit Bombadil (winner of this years best dressed) took a shot to include the photographer.

The grill was then fired up again, now that a refilled tank of propane was on hand for Supper. Again, Mary's Speidies were plentiful as were the hot-dogs, the sausage, the chicken, the big hunks of meat. I told that even a salad could be found if you looked.

This years Band was absolutely, positively the best ever. Tit and the rest of the Knockers had never been better. Debbie did a great job as lead singer as the band did their 1st set. On guitar there was the incomparable Layne, Sam on his new base, Jimmy the Lens on keyboard, Cheech on the drums, Tit accompanied on his keyboard and did a great job with vocals and even Gos was called up to do a special song "We Won't Get Fooled Again"

As long as we had so much propane it was then time for Dinner, what else would come after Supper.... with dinner music by Jimmy the lens. The Show was great for several reasons. !. It lasted just over one hour and the acts were well rehearsed, brief and excellent. Titman donned his famous Tux to ensure his "best dressed" status as this years MC. Professor Gos A Knee went on with his tribute to the girls of the Unexpected Party and left no doubt of their importance.

Although it was in the script he somehow skipped over Eillen which in no way made her the perfect woman. The criteria for that was plainly displayed on a poster on the stage and no candidates stepped up. The Bubble boy followed as the bubble girl watched and prepared a joke or two of her own.

Dave and Pat were short but good and the Unexpected Players (Marie, Eileen, Henry, Mike, Dave, Debbie and Danny and Vivian) were at their best in their own rendition of Lord Of The SSWWINGG. WE can't wait for the sequel The Two Towers....... Some more jokes followed by Dave, Noreen, Danny, Tit as we awaited the big act, Frank and Lester in "The Misadventures of Super Puppet".

Frank never looked prettier and according to the poster was probably closest thing to the perfect woman at the party. (Look it's a bird, it's a plane no it's Star Wars) Many wondered if this was a spoof on Superman or Star Wars or was it vintage Frank and Lester where the only thing that makes sense is "it's funny". Grandpa Sam then stepped up to admonish Frank and Lester regarding his daughter Sarah's love child of which so far we have not named... The resemblance gave no doubt however.. This IS Sarah's child...

The Show got a rousing applause from the audience that included Jimmy and Elaine from Marie's past which of course put a big smile on Marie.

As well as another Elaine who came with Uncle Ray. Could he play...WOW The audience as usual was great for every one except the poor bubble boy who took the place of ex performances by the Butts Sisters, the Sugar Fairies and the Kings College Cheerleaders.Cheer up bubble boy, i was laughing at you! and you can always count on getting laughs from Jerry, Sharon, Scott, Harvey and Jake, Marie, Debbie, Sarah, Noreen and Eileen.

Then of course it was snack time while the band was setting up for the final set. Snack time, slammar time and finally time to tap another keg time.

The Band's final set was launched as was the final leg of the Unexpected Party. An incredible weekend filled with as much fun as hobbits are allowed in such a short period of time.

Special thanks must go out to Jerry and Sharon of course for allowing us the use of the beautiful Mcgraw surroundings in such a hobbit like setting.

A big welcome and special thanks to the Newcomers of the year: Jimmy the lens for his keyboarding, photography and love of the smaller things in life such as NY state blueberries and Uncle Ray for their musical talents that put the band over the edge. We all hope these two guys become regulars.

To Pat for tall the signs and chairs and slammars.. To Paul for all the great fireworks, the bubbles , the set up and tear down.. to Mary for the speidies.. . to all the girls of the Unexpected Party. Special Good Luck to Henry who by the looks of some of the pictures is expecting very soon...

or could it be that he is Lord of the SSWWINGG and it's just tucked under his shirt.

A huge thanks and pat on the back to eveyone who came; for we are the Unexpected Party. Can the 30th anniversary top this one........ time will tell and not really that much time. For the great thing is, That the older we get the shorter the time between Unexpected Partys seems to be... Don't forget to see The Two Towers... there may be another test....

So to all of us, we'll see us real soon for NUMBER 30. Great Job Class!

Professor Gos-a-knee
